Irene Mpangile: Leading Sustainable Development in Tanzania

As the current Deputy Director and before that, the Acting Director at Tanganyika Christian Refugee Service (TCRS) from September 2022 to January 2024, Irene led numerous initiatives focused on community empowerment, food security, and environmental conservation. Her tenure here is notable for forging strong partnerships with government bodies, and international stakeholders, driving substantial progress in humanitarian support, climate resilience, and market access for smallholder farmers.
Before assuming her current role at TCRS, Irene significantly contributed to the Tanzania Breast Cancer Foundation as the Head of Programs. Her strategic insights and operational management skills played a crucial role in enhancing the foundation’s sustainability and impact. She continues to volunteer for breast and cervical cancer initiatives in Tanzania. Additionally, her work as a Program Consultant with Tai Tanzania showcases her proficiency in program development, stakeholder engagement, and financial stewardship.
