Kibondo Field Program
2022 TCRS Kibondo under the Community Empowerment Program
(CEP) continued with Project interventions in 10 project villages of Kibondo and Kakonko districts namely Rusohoko,Nyange,Kigogo, Kigendeka and Minyinya in Kibondo and Itumbiko,
Kiga, Kasongati, Kiduduye and Kiyobera focusing on enabling people to lift themselves out of
poverty while building community resilience through Climate Smart Economic Empowerment
(CSEE). This created jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for young
men and women whereby climate-smart food production systems are in place, increasing the
income of small-scale producers and service providers.
Faith in Farmers:Boosting local production for
food Security in Africa 2023-2024The project aims at empowering youth, men and women to live a resilient lives free from poverty by enhancing smallholder food producers to increase production capacity through mobilizing and conducting simple baseline (farmers profiling) to identify and recruit new smallholder farmers (SHF).
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) funded projects focus on building the capacity of the communities to live dignified lives by developing food production systems based on agricultural diversification and enhancing women and men to achieve higher economic security though VICOBA and income-generating activities and also to reduce economic risks caused due to natural disasters.
