Morogoro Inclusive Community Resilience Project

TCRS Morogoro serves Morogoro District Council supported by Felm and Ministry of foreign affairs of Finland.In previous years the project dealt with Community Empowerment Project (CEP) but from 2022 to 2025 the project's goal shifted to Inclusive Community project which focuses more on coping with climate change and mitigation.The project engages on improved food security and disaster risk management in 15 villages in Tawa, Tomondo, Mikese and Kiroka.

Project achievements in 2022 972 (395m/577f) have adopted appropriate farming methods that increased sustainable food production.462(198f/264m) were trained and adopted organic farming. 16950 trees survived first summer in 2022.961 direct and indirect beneficiaries used energy-saving cooking stoves.2,670(1378m/1292f) were sensitized on water sustainability, sanitation and hygiene.13 improved ventilated latrines with special room for people with disabilities and for girls were constructed. Implementation of the activities during the reporting period were done by project staff with assistance of volunteer village animators in collaboration with local government officers and other stakeholders like Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) and industrial company (Mahashree).

Empowerment program is designed to build self-resilience and confidence by empowering the community to change their own lives. The organization facilitates the process of capacity building, awareness raising and training for marginalized people and their local leaders, so that they are able to take self-initiatives that lead to improvement in their lives and communities.
